Product description
The "Cal-look" craze originated in California in the 1970s. The main ingredient was to finish the exterior in the most elegant way possible, eliminating or removing anything that might be remotely distracting.
The bumpers were also to suffer for the most part, but the total absence of bumpers wasn't what many wanted either.
The T-bar was what they were looking for. It didn't have the protective function of a bumper, but it made the look much more exciting.
to this day, the T-bar is still popular in the custom world, although it is increasingly seen powder-coated instead of chrome-plated as standard.
Remember that chrome needs regular maintenance, or rust will set in. Drying chrome after every rain shower and polishing it regularly will keep your car looking its best.
