For newer VW models, the engine lid does not rot so quickly, but bumps are often the reason why it needs to be replaced. For older VW models, age is becoming more and more a problem and rust regularly takes over, so repairing the rear hood is no longer an option.
If you are considering equipping a young Volkswagen Beetle with an older engine lid, it is possible. However, it is necessary to replace the rear panel, trunk lock and handle with the old model.
