On most Volkswagens to be restored, the front end has to be replaced. If it's not the amount of rust, it's the dents that damage the front panel.
This front panel replaces the original, simply by carefully drilling out the spot welds, sanding and welding the new front panel. With the VW Thing, it's a bit different, this panel can be used for both left- and right-hand drive cars, to do this you need to transfer the upper part where the lock is mounted, again it's a matter of drilling out the spot welds and transferring them.
If you have the choice between an A or B quality front panel, the main difference lies in the pressure of the profiling and the overall finish. The A-quality panel is similar to the original, while the B-quality panel is slightly different. In addition, the steel used in B-grade panels is thinner. In short, you can use a B-quality panel if originality is not a priority and/or if your budget doesn't allow you to use an A-quality panel.
