Most of the accessories you think are new have been around for many years.

This also applies to this wind deflector, the first models of which have already been identified in the 1940s, a period when the American automobile industry was experiencing its heyday and the market for automobile accessories was becoming important.

The wind deflector is attached to the vent window, which deflects the wind when the window is open, creating a suction effect and improving ventilation. In the early advertisements for this accessory, smoking was the focus, the suction effect of cigarette smoke was removed more quickly.

Today, it is a retro accessory whose actual function is no longer as important, hence its availability in different transparent colours and, and for chrome lovers, also in polished stainless steel.

Use cloth tape inside the clamps to prevent damage to the vent window frame and to hold the clamps in place. The clamps are not made of spring steel to prevent damage to the frame.

Note: The clamps are not fully riveted for transparent models, there must be some clearance to be able to absorb gusts of wind in order to avoid breaking the plastic. This does not apply to stainless steel models, which are riveted.
