Product description
The radiator fan is switched on as soon as the coolant in the radiator reaches a certain temperature. This two-stage thermo switch has two switching temperatures. When the first switching temperature is reached, the low fan speed is activated. If the temperature rises further, the high fan speed is activated at the second switching temperature.
The thermo switch is fitted in the radiator. If one of the two switching stages fails, the fan may operate only at low or high speed. If both switching stages fail, the fan will no longer be switched on.
If the engine temperature rises too high and the radiator fan does not operate or works at only one speed, check the fuses, wiring, connections, series resistor and fan motor in addition to the thermo switch. Replace the thermo switch if testing shows that it no longer switches at the correct temperatures.
