Product description
The fan located in front of the radiator ensures that the engine temperature remains stable. When the engine is cold, the fan will not switch on. As soon as the coolant temperature rises above the preset value, the fan automatically switches on to keep the engine at the correct operating temperature.
If the fan keeps running continuously or does not switch on while the temperature is rising, the thermostatic switch is often defective. If the fan does not respond at all, you can test it by connecting it directly to a power source. If the fan still does not rotate, it is defective and must be replaced.
If one of the fan blades is damaged or broken, always replace the fan. Do not take the risk of continuing to drive with a damaged fan. If the fan stops working, the engine may overheat, which can result in severe engine damage.
Note: always check whether the dimensions match your old fan. If you transfer the connectors from your old fan, this fan can also be used for model years up to March 1985 (chassis number 24-F-100000).
