Product description
On early Volkswagen Beetle models, the wiper switch was located centrally above the dashboard, under the windshield. In itself, this is not strange, but it seems that the switch is mounted upside down, probably to resemble the switches next to the speedometer that are located the same way.
The difference between the standard model or the export and convertible version was the color. The switch on the standard Volkswagen Beetle was black and the switch on the export and convertible version was ivory. This shows that the export and convertible versions were already ahead of the standard versions in terms of luxury, and this remained the case throughout the life of the Volkswagen Beetle.
