Product description
There are many different names: turn signal relay, turn signal box or flasher. They're all names for the electrical block that flashes the turn signals.
We can supply most of the relays used in our classic Volkswagens, in both 6- and 12-volt versions. There's even a model specially designed for 6-volt Volkswagens fitted with LED lights. The difference lies in the number of connection poles and the number of lights that can be controlled simultaneously. If your Volkswagen is equipped with hazard warning lights, 4 lights will be switched on when they are used, whereas with a trailer, at least 6 lights will be switched on. For cars without hazard warning lights, 2 lights are on, and with a trailer, at least 3.
Don't compare appearance, but check the relay's specifications and whether it's interchangeable with what's currently in the car before ordering.
If you have replaced the bulbs with LED bulbs you must also replace the relay in the 6 volt version. With 12-volt LED bulbs you can try it, but if you want to be sure of proper operation, order the relay listed under the options of the particular LED bulb.
Please note: the connection letters on genuine 6-volt relays differ from the original. Download the wiring diagram to avoid making any mistakes in this respect, as incorrect connections can render the relay unusable. Relays that have been removed from their packaging cannot be returned.
