Product description
On the VW Vanagon with a Type 4 carburetor engine, the throttle cable is connected to the throttle linkage via a mounting nipple that rotates in bearing bushings. These bearing bushings minimize wear and prevent excessive play when accelerating.
However, on many engines, the bushes are worn, partially broken or completely eliminated. This leads to increased wear and excessive play.
You should therefore check the condition of the bearings at every service. Replace them immediately if you notice any play at the mounting end.
