The T25 bus has been available with both a 4-speed and a 5-speed transmission. Where the 5-speed gearbox differs from the 4-speed. This Teflon cover can be found on the underside of the shifter of the 5-speed gearbox and ensures that the grease (intended for the mechanism that brings the shifter back to the rest position after the selection of 1st gear or reverse) stays in place and also ensures that no dust and dirt can enter the mechanism. On the other side there is a dust cover with a similar function, check it for cracks and replace it immediately if necessary.
Dust cover and guides :
Should you experience shifting problems and the problem is not in the above-mentioned mechanism, chances are that the shift guides on the underside of the shift housing are worn out. If these are worn out it results in excessive play on the shift lever. If, after checking, you have discovered that the dust cover on the other side of the sealing cover is torn, order an additional one right away.
