Product description
To replace the gearshift linkage on a VW Type 3, you must first unscrew the inspection cover, which will give you access to the tunnel.
As the tunnel is located under the car, it's important that the seal between the cover and the tunnel is in good condition to ensure a watertight seal.
On most Type 3 models, this seal has deteriorated over the years and, once opened, will no longer seal properly. Install a new rubber gasket and you'll be assured of a tight seal.
