Product description
The rear axle nut and flywheel bolt can be very tight. If you don't have an air wrench, you could be worrying for hours. The biggest problems are related to the rear axle turning or the engine block tipping.
This lock rod is attached to the brake drum by a bolt or lug nut, while a second bolt or stud rests on the metal of the lock rod.
The flywheel uses the bolts from the pressure unit, the other side of the lock rod rests on the floor, allowing you to apply force without the whole thing spinning or tipping. We recommend using the flywheel lock tool here as well (see the related parts tab).
Depending on the VW type, the rear axle is secured with a 36 or 46 mm nut.
The flywheel on Type 1, Type 3 and CT/CZ engines is secured with a 36 mm bolt.
Note: For Type 4, WBX or diesel engine flywheels, it is not possible to use the safety bar without modification.
