Product description
Standard tool assortments usually do not include large sizes. Most socket sets stop at 30 or 32 mm. If larger sizes are included, these are often standard sockets rather than impact sockets.
An impact socket, also known as a power socket, is an extra-strong socket. It is suitable for use with a ratchet as well as with impact wrenches and other heavy-duty tools. Unlike standard sockets, impact sockets are resistant to the high forces and vibrations of pneumatic and electric tools.
This impact socket is manufactured from tough chrome-molybdenum steel and features a retaining hole for a locking pin. This makes it suitable for use on compatible machines and prevents the socket from coming loose during operation.
This impact socket is suitable for various applications.
When this socket is used for the flywheel bolt, we recommend using a flywheel locking clamp in combination with a locking bar. These items can be found under the ‘Options’ tab.
The same locking bar can also be used when loosening or tightening the rear axle nut. For Volkswagen Bus models from August 1963 onwards, a larger socket is required, namely 46 mm. This can be found under the ‘Other models’ tab.
