Product description
Beetles and Buses up to 7.1967 are equipped with so-called inclined headlights, the complete unit hangs in the fender or front panel behind a raised edge of the headlight housing and is fixed with a bolt on the other side.
To avoid any damage, VW has taken care to ensure that the metal of the headlight ring cannot touch the paint. To do this, a plastic spacer is used between the headlight ring and the bodywork through which the fixing bolt is fixed. In many restorations, this spacer is lost or digested over the years.
Also check under the Options tab where the bolt is mentioned and the Related parts tab if the rubber between the headlight and the bodywork needs to be replaced.
Note: The spacer is pushed onto the bolt or turned with the flatter side towards the headlight ring, so the ring is tightened on the bolt, which prevents losses during assembly.
