Product description
Our classic Volkswagens are usually equipped with conventional incandescent bulbs. Halogen lighting was later also used for the headlights, including the 6V H4 bulb listed here. Volkswagen did not switch completely to H4 lighting all at once; depending on the model, year and version, conventional headlights and H4 headlights continued to be used alongside each other for many years.
Halogen bulbs also have a limited service life. Almost everyone has experienced having to replace a bulb while on the road or just before setting off. It is therefore advisable to check the lighting regularly and replace defective bulbs immediately.
It is also a good idea to always carry a set of spare bulbs in the vehicle. This allows you to replace a failed bulb straight away and avoids having to continue driving with lighting that is not working properly.
