Product description
If the coolant pressure in the expansion tank gets too high, it is blown off through the filler cap of the refill reservoir. Thus, the refill reservoir has the dual function of relieving pressure and refilling the coolant. If the filler cap of the expansion tank blows off pressure, this is not a normal phenomenon, look for possible engine problems.
In aging cars, the plastic of the cap will harden, which can cause the cap to crack. Also, do not over-tighten the cap, hand-tightening is sufficient. The expansion tank cap has an internal seal. The expansion tank cap has a loose seal (included).
