Product description
If the coolant pressure in the expansion tank becomes too high, the excess pressure is released through the expansion tank cap. When this happens, there is usually a problem within the cooling system or an engine-related issue, such as overheating or combustion gases entering the cooling system.
The coolant refill reservoir cap serves solely to close the reservoir and is fitted with a separate sealing ring (included). On older vehicles, the plastic of the cap can harden over time, causing the cap to crack. Therefore, do not overtighten the cap, hand-tight is sufficient.
