Product description
After Volkswagen's model change from the Split Bus to the Bay Window Bus, every detail was revised and, as a result, greatly improved. A major improvement was made to the engine suspension: instead of being mounted only on the gearbox, the engine was now also suspended in rubbers at the rear.
Until 7/1971, the engine mount was attached directly to the chassis beam with an engine mount rubber, then this was changed for cars with a Type 1 engine with additional suspension mounts. The left and right brackets are identical, with two brackets used per side.
If these mounts have been affected by corrosion, making the metal much thinner, it is recommended to replace them. But the most common reason for purchase is their loss during restoration.
