A DZUS fastener is mainly used in areas where sheet metal parts need to be connected but must also be removable quickly. The DZUS fastener consists of two components. One part is mounted in the sheet metal panel, and the other part is mounted in the bodywork.
Locking and unlocking the DZUS fastener is done using a coin or a screwdriver. A half turn is sufficient to secure or release the fastener.
Two versions of retaining springs are available and must be ordered separately. These can be found under the ‘Options’ tab. When a solid mounting surface is available, such as a metal body panel, the loose retaining spring can be used. This is best mounted using pop rivets. In situations where no direct mounting surface is available, the retaining spring with mounting base offers a suitable solution.
The DZUS fasteners are suitable for sheet metal parts with a maximum thickness of 1.59 mm.
