Torn drive shaft boots not only cause rejection during the annual inspection, but you also lose the grease that lubricates the constant velocity joints. Check the condition of the transmission boots at each service and replace if damaged or hardened.
Make sure that the constant velocity joints are sufficiently lubricated and use molybdenum grease for this purpose.
