Product description
Threaded rod bushings (case savers) are originally intended for crankcase repair. If the threaded rods are pulled out of the crankcase, it is usually due to excessive tightening torque combined with excessive engine temperature. It is a repartition method frequently used by Volkswagen in overhaul engines. Usually this was done preventively, a thread repaired this way is much stronger than the original thread. For those engaged in tuning, they are also standardly applied to strengthen the crankcase at this location, because the chance of a threaded rod being pulled out of the crankcase is many times greater with higher power than with a standard engine. Threaded rod bushings save the crankcase from the scrap heap, hence the more familiar name "case saver." If you want to use them for a different application, both inner and outer diameters are listed.
