Product description
Copper and aluminum are fairly soft, heat and corrosion resistant materials, ideally suited for use as gasket material.
It is a misconception that a copper or aluminum gasket can be reused. Once assembled, the gasket has taken on the shape of the interfaces, and reuse will inevitably result in leakage.
The copper gaskets mentioned here are primarily used to seal the threaded ends of the oil sump plate, but they are also used for other purposes. Below you will find, per Volkswagen model, where these rings are used and how many of them are needed in total.
