Product description
When closing the sliding door from the inside, use the lever that also unlocks the sliding door. This works without any problems, but if this lever is difficult to reach because of a kitchen cabinet or a load, for example, then closing it from the inside suddenly becomes much more difficult.
Volkswagen saw this problem coming fairly quickly and took precautions by offering the possibility of placing a second lever on the other side of the door. This additional leverage was an option frequently used by motorhome companies such as Westfalia. In addition, this option was often ordered extra for Volkswagen Buses that were used as taxis so that not only the front passenger but also the passengers in the back could close the door.
Volkswagen has already done the preparation, just screw the bracket mentioned here with the corresponding mounting material on the sliding door and equip it with a lever (mentioned under the options tab). You then have a fixed handle with which you can easily close the door from the back.
An additional option that we can recommend to all Volkswagen Bus owners.
