Product description
The assist straps in the interior, which provide support while driving or help when getting in and out of the vehicle, are not mounted directly to the bodywork. Considerable force can be placed on the mounting point during use. For this reason, the mounting point on the B-pillar is reinforced with a sturdy mounting bracket, which also serves as a coat hook.
To neatly conceal this metal mounting, a plastic cover is fitted over it. This cover partially extends over the mounting of the assist strap, providing a neat and original-looking finish.
After many years, the original covers are often discoloured or yellowed. Especially in cars in which there has been a lot of smoking, the original colour may have been severely affected. Sunlight and ageing also take their toll: the plastic can harden and become brittle, causing cracks to develop. On many cars, the covers are now even missing completely.
