Product description
Coolant leaks are often caused by porous hoses, but on older Volkswagens the metal pipes can also wear out. Rust is the main culprit, something that is commonly seen on Waterboxer engines.
In particular, the pipe between the water pump and the oil cooler is prone to corrosion. It is therefore not unusual for this pipe to require replacement over time.
This pipe is made of stainless steel, which prevents rust and significantly increases its service life.
When replacing a pipe, it is often necessary to replace some hoses as well. Even if this is not strictly necessary yet, it is wise to do this preventively. After many years of use, hoses are usually nearing the end of their lifespan. Don’t forget to order new hose clamps as well, old clamps lose their clamping force over time and may no longer seal properly.
