Product description
On the early Type 1 engines, the spark plug wires were routed to the cylinders through a metal conduit tube. This conduit tube was secured with clamps around the intake manifold. The advantage was that the wires were neatly routed, but the downside was that if a spark plug wire became damaged, it could cause a short circuit against the metal tube. This was the main reason why Volkswagen later abandoned this design and mounted the wires through rubber grommets in the fan shroud.
The original clamps are often rusted or missing completely. With the reproductions offered here, you can mount the spark plug wire conduit tube again as it originally left the factory.
