Product description
In Volkswagen Bus models up to 1965, the fight against vandalism and theft was not yet the focus of particular attention. Indeed, the engine compartment could be opened by anyone with a simple universal key. Even the side loading hatch of a VW pick-up could be opened in this way. This universal key was always in the car or attached to an additional accessory, which is unimaginable today.
To ensure that the paintwork is not damaged, and that no moisture or dirt can penetrate through the keyhole, a chrome rosette is fitted over the keyhole. This rosette is fitted with a rotating flap which remains closed by means of a spring.
On most VW Bus models, the flap spring is either missing or completely rusted. Replacing it with this polished stainless steel flap is the best solution. Since rust is out of the question, you'll probably never have to replace it.
Don't forget to order the underlying rubber, which can be found in the "options" tab.
