Product description
Many people think that leakage at the valve cover is caused solely by a worn gasket, but often the problem lies with the tension bracket. If it has lost its resilience, it no longer presses the lid properly, causing leakage.
Discover this problem on the road? Then gently bend the tension bracket as a temporary solution. Once home, however, replacement is necessary. Once a tensioning bracket loses its clamping pressure, it cannot be permanently solved by re-bending.
Standard tension brackets are available in galvanized version (as original), black coated and for Type-1, Type-3, CT/CZ and WBX engines also in chromed version.
For Type-1 engines (except the 25- and 30hp versions) two bracket types are available:
For original German-manufactured Volkswagen valve covers (height ± 5 cm) or for original VW valve covers from Mexico that are similar in dimensions to our reproduction models (height ± 4.7 mm). The height is measured at the highest point of the valve cover.
The difference between these lids is in the height, so the brackets are also different.
Do you have aluminum valve covers (Paruzzi #1767) and the tension brackets need replacement? Then you need a specific type of bracket; these differ from the original model and require custom brackets.
Note: Don't forget to order new gaskets with it, they are not reusable. You can find the appropriate gaskets on the Options tab.
