On Westfalia T25 campers, the gas tank filler, pressure gauge and shut-off valve are housed in a plastic casing mounted against the gas tank.
If the valve is not properly sealed, it may fall off while driving, and the continuous movement will eventually damage it irreparably. This is a common fault, so there aren't many motorhomes left where the cover hasn't already been replaced, or is even missing.
Don't worry: the cover is now available again as a reproduction. This complete version is equipped with hinges and a watertight cover, and is fully consistent with the original.
