Product description
Most standard looking bolts have been used by Volkswagen for multiple applications and VW models. This is not the case with this M8 bolt, it was only used to attach the bracket to the steering rack of the last series of Volkswagen 1303 models.
Starting with the 1975 model year, the steering gear of the VW 1303 was modernized, the roller steering was no longer used but replaced by a rack and pinion steering.
The bolt that attaches the bracket to the rack and pinion steering box appears to be a standard 8.8 bolt, but it has a specific length of 62mm, making this bolt unique and therefore not used anywhere else on our Volkswagen models.
Note: Your Volkswagen has been engineered and tested in great detail before mass production began. Therefore, only replace assembly parts if they are 100% compliant with Volkswagen specifications. If not for originality, do it for safety.
