Product description
The voltage regulator converts the AC voltage into a usable DC voltage and is integrated into the alternator of the Volkswagen Vanagon.
If the carbon brushes are too worn out, the voltage regulator will no longer do its job and the battery will no longer be charged. The cause of the loss of charge (the light comes on in the dashboard) is not always the carbon brushes, the voltage regulator itself can also be defective, not to mention the alternator itself.
If it's not the carbon brushes, then beware, you may fit a new voltage regulator and later discover that the problem was with the alternator, and your new voltage regulator will burn out accordingly. When in doubt, have your alternator tested first.
Remember, once mounted, a voltage regulator cannot be returned.
