Many seals are applied by Volkswagen on different engines. Therefore, years after the production of a certain model has been discontinued, most gaskets are still available from the official VW dealer. This is often not the case with gaskets that are only used for one purpose, in which case you have to make the gasket yourself or there must be a reproduction available.
The latter applies to this gasket, it is only used for Waterboxer (WBX) motors until 7.1985 between the thermostat housing and the water pump.
