Originally, these parker/tapping screws were made of galvanized steel, a bad choice from Volkswagen in our opinion. These screws are used to fix the turn indicator units. Almost all unrestored Volkswagen Vanagons have rusty screws at the turn signal units, often to the point where there is even a trace of rust visible.
If these tapping screws had been made of stainless steel, this would never have happened. That's why the screws mentioned here are made of stainless steel and fully comply with the Volkswagen specifications, so also with a drilling point. This proves that even the original can be improved.
Besides the fact that these screws are used for the turn signals, they are also used to fix the corner pieces of the bumper and to fix the bracket that holds together the two water hoses for the additional heating in the interior of later VW Buses.
Below per application is a list of how many screws you would need, if you were to replace them all:
- turn signals 4 pieces

- heater hose holder from August 1985 and later 1 piece
