Product description
The gas strut is located at the top, above a pin which is secured by a clip. There should be rubber rings between the gas strut and the body, and between the gas strut and the coil spring.
These rings ensure that play is eliminated and that there is no additional noise during articulation. They also serve to protect the compression spring and body.
These are not standard rubber rings, which would wear out in a short time, but rings reinforced with encapsulated wire.
If the gas strut has to be replaced, it is advisable to replace these rubber rings immediately, as it can be assumed that once the gas strut have worn out, the rings will also be worn.
