In the case of Volkswagen Beetles which are equipped with cooling slots in the engine hood, a heavy downpour can seriously dirty the engine, which we prefer to avoid. Volkswagen had thought of that at the time, most luxury models were equipped with a factory drainage system inside the engine hood, but most Beetles didn't have that luxury.
This PVC rain guard is mounted on the outside, above the cooling slots in the engine hood. Let the rain come, your engine will stay dry.
This part is black but can be painted in any colour if you wish.
Note: To ensure optimum engine cooling, the rain guard should not be used when the outside temperature is above 25º C. Also, long summer trips are not recommended with this part mounted.
