The hubcaps are attached to the rim. To loosen them, a screwdriver is usually used which damages the paint on the rim. There is a special tool that fits into the holes on the side of the hubcap and allows the hubcap to be removed from the rim without damaging it. Volkswagen has been adding them as standard in the car's tool kit for many years. Unfortunately, the latest models are no longer equipped with them. If the tractor tool is missing or if you have purchased a new tool kit (#09811), please add this one as well.
Two deluxe versions are also available, notably for the Volkswagen Beetle. These are caps that are fixed in the jack support and in which the hubcap extractor is mounted. The face is round in polished stainless steel or polished aluminium in an oval shape with the EMPI logo. A great advantage of this deluxe version is that the jack support is well finished and you won't lose the tractor, you always have it at hand.
