Product description
Like the Porsche 356, the Volkswagen Beetle was used at an early stage in various rallies. To prevent stone splashes from damaging the headlight lenses, most rally cars are equipped with headlight protectors. In the 60s and 70s, this was a popular accessory that was not only used at rallies, but also as a supplement for everyday use. Gradually, most manufacturers went out of business due to disappointing sales, and by the 1980s they were no longer available anywhere.
The demand for this retro accessory has only increased in recent years and they are now available again. This new version is made of stainless steel (instead of rust sensitive chrome).
The protector is clamped between the glass and the headlight ring at the top and is attached to the headlight ring/unit with the mounting bolt at the bottom.
Note: You may have to bend the protector for Volkswagen models up to 7.1967 to get the correct oval shape.
