Product description
The license plate must be illuminated at night. The simplest way to do this is to use an electric bulb. And this has been done on our Volkswagens since it became mandatory by law.
The lens on the lamp protects the lamp and the electricity from moisture and dirt. Some lenses even have a built-in reflector that directs the light in the right direction.
If the lens is damaged or torn, moisture will flow freely, causing oxidation and jeopardizing the reliability of the lamp. If you have neglected this, the periodic inspection will draw your attention to this.
