Product description
Our classic Volkswagen never came with a radio from the factory, it was an extra option that could be delivered and installed by the VW dealer. Most Volkswagens left the showroom without a radio, it was cheaper to have it installed by a specialist radio installation service, where there was a wider choice of different brands of radio.
The antenna was not factory fitted either. Depending on the model, there was sometimes a hole for mounting an antenna, which was then sealed with a rubber plug.
Our range of antennas corresponds to the antenna models that were used at the time by the dealer or radio installation service, which means that not all models can be completely flush mounted. If a tube is present under the mounting location, the antenna can be pushed in completely. If there is no such tube, it can only be partially pushed in and a part will always remain protruding.
Note for the Split Bus with Safari windows: You can mount the antenna either on the right or on the left, this requires converting the antenna, please consult the manual for this, it is available on the tab "documentation".
Note for VW Vanagon: On these models, the antenna must be mounted on the driver's side on the front panel above the headlight. If there is no hole for an antenna, there is a preparation (cut-out) in the sheet metal underneath (on the passenger side, this preparation is not present).
