In newer Volkswagen Beetles, there is a ventilation system under the trunk lid to ensure that no fuel vapours continue to circulate and that your fuel tank cannot be sucked vacuum when empty and so that refuelling can be done more quickly.
If necessary, these pipes are preformed in the same way as the original.
