Product description
The heating pipe, which runs from the heat exchanger to the bodywork, is slid onto a bakelite flow that is screwed to the bodywork. Bakelite has already been chosen because it has good insulating properties, but it is a pity that it is so fragile. You can't repair it, replace it is the only good solution, but it's not an easy task. Volkswagen never thought that it would be possible to replace these bakelites without lifting the bodywork. When you are restoring and the bodywork has been removed, check for cracks in these bakelite pipes and replace them if in doubt. If you don't and later find out that they weren't so well cared for after all, you can't reach them anymore. But there is hope for all those who have to replace them on a fully assembled car. Lightly sand the top and bottom of the flange and try to rotate the passage along the torsion tube so that you reach the mounting location. If you can't turn them over, you can sharpen them a little, until you can. If you do this little by little, it will close on the hole in the body. Always install new joints between the body and the transit (#03392), if there is still space, it will be sealed by the joint. Delivered per side.
