Product description
Most classic Volkswagens are equipped with a torsion-spring suspension system, consisting of several spring-steel fins which together form the torsion spring. Over time, the torsion spring can sag and even crack or break under very heavy loads. However, this rarely happens on cars that have always been used on public roads; it usually only happens after a major collision or when used off-road.
If you have a narrowed front axle, you can no longer use the standard torsion springs: these, like the stabilizer bar, need to be narrower. If you've bought a tapered front axle from our range, you don't need to measure anything, as the spring kits mentioned are the right length. If not, you may be able to guess, but it's better to measure the springs. In addition, the total length of the spring packs is also indicated for these models.
Never replace only the top or bottom spring pack, but always at the same time. If you don't, chances are you'll soon find yourself with a collapsed suspension.
