Product description
Protective sleeves for trunk hinge springs, safety and originality in one.
Starting with the 1962 model year, the trunk hinge mechanism has been improved: the old manual trunk locking system has been replaced by a spring-loaded version that automatically holds the trunk in the open position.
To prevent you running your fingers between these springs, a protective sleeve was placed over them at the time.
If you no longer have these protective sleeves, or if they have become deformed or brittle over the years, it's advisable to install or replace them.
Getting caught between the springs is no picnic, and there's no need to think about little children peering curiously under the faucet as you turn it off...
With these protective sleeves, you restore not only safety, but also the original appearance of your Volkswagen.
Tip: If you want to get rid of your springs altogether, consider gas springs, which are listed under the "alternatives" tab.
