A circlip is a spring steel ring used to hold parts in place on a shaft or in a bore. The snap ring fits into a groove and prevents parts from moving axially.
There are two main types of snap ring, namely inner seal rings, which are placed in a groove in a bore to hold parts in place inside the bore.they are often mounted and dismounted in the same way.
They are often assembled and disassembled using special circlip pliers, which stretch or compress the ring.
The circlip mentioned here is a type of external circlip that is pressed into the shaft groove without the need for special tools.
