Product description
This engine tin is located behind the crankshaft pulley. The pulley must therefore first be removed for removal and installation.
The rear engine tin connects to this panel. Together, these parts seal the engine compartment from the hot air underneath the engine. With an air-cooled engine, it is important to keep this heat out of the engine compartment as much as possible.
If you also need a rear engine tin in addition to this panel, there is no suitable reproduction available for the production years to which this part applies. This part can therefore only be used in the original configuration if you still have the original rear engine tin.
There is, however, another option. Look under Other models for the alternative version of the engine tin behind the pulley. Also read the product description, where it is stated which rear engine tin can be combined with this part so that the engine compartment is properly sealed again.
In addition, this engine tin can also be used on a T2 Bay from 8.1971 and later fitted with a Type 1 engine, provided it is slightly modified. In that case, the hole for the crankcase breather tube must be sealed.
