Product description
The brake drum of the Volkswagen Bay Window Bus and the VW Vanagon is attached to the axle stub with the wheel nuts. To ensure that the brake drum does not come loose when changing the wheel, it is additionally secured with M7 bolts.
The same bolts are also used on the latest Volkswagen Beetles produced in Mexico, to secure the dust shield behind the disc brake.
M7 is not a very common size and you won't find them on the shelf of any hardware store, let alone in the 8.8 hardness.
The M7 bolts listed here are the correct hardness and length, exactly as prescribed by Volkswagen. It is recommended to always replace them. If you use a rusty bolt again, chances are it will eat away at the car and break when you unscrew it, after which you'll have to drill out the bolt, which is probably not what you're looking for.
