When you mention the KONI brand name, everyone knows that you are dealing with a world-class shock absorber. KONI is a 100% Dutch company that produces shock absorbers that are exported all over the world. Not only for the production car, but also for motor sport (including Formula 1).

The KONI shock absorber is characterised by the patented damping system which is adjustable to the user's needs. One likes maximum driving comfort, while the other wants a sportier ride. KONI makes this possible by turning it before mounting the shock (see instructions supplied) to set the desired damping (pressure). KONI is not a cheap shock absorber, but it is the highest possible quality with a life span that leaves all other brands behind.

Attention: Lowered shock absorbers are not officially intended for use in conventional Volkswagen cars, simply shorten the diameter of the lower mounting hole (by drilling at 12 mm) and shorten the shaft ends (after drilling) on both sides at 32 mm. KONI only produces standard shock absorbers for our Volkswagen. While searching in the KONI warehouse, we found a shock absorber that, with minimal adjustments, perfectly matches our wish for a lowered shock absorber.

All KONI shock absorbers are delivered in pairs, including mounting material (if required).

Additional information on the rear axle Our Volkswagens
have two different rear suspension systems for each model, trumpet axles and cardan axles (IRS). If you do not know exactly which rear axle is mounted, check whether you have shaft covers on the wheel side and on the gearbox side.in this case you are dealing with IRS axles or only on the gearbox side you are dealing with trumpet axles.

Warranty
KONI uses a very long warranty period, but if the damping adjustment mechanism is damaged, it is NOT covered by the warranty. The adjustment mechanism will be broken if the shock absorber reaches its end point while driving. Before mounting the shock, make sure that the end point can never be reached. The working area of the shock absorber must be well within the maximum suspension travel. KONI does not accept any form of warranty if the adjustment mechanism is damaged, according to KONI there is no other way that could damage the adjustment mechanism.
