Product description
If you have an American or Canadian Volkswagen Bus built between 1962 and 1971, the tail lights are fully red, with a single dual filament bulb providing the tail lights, brake lights and turn signals. On the European version, there are two bulbs: separate tail and brake lights and a separate turn signal, where the lens has a red and orange section.
If you have decided to convert your American or Canadian import Bus to the European standard, you will have to replace the entire unit. In the case of the tail light mentioned here, the unit is replaced while keeping the complete red lenses, after which there is almost nothing to indicate that you have upgraded the tail lights to the European standard.
The rear light lenses do not have E-approval. If this is not allowed in the country where your Volkswagen Bus is registered, you can get replacement lenses with E-approval as an extra charge, see the tab "replacement parts".
These tail light units are also applicable on the Volkswagen Thing, if you want to have a full red tail light instead of the orange/red one.
Additional note: These units are of a much higher quality than the units listed in the "alternatives" tab. If you want superior quality and don't mind a European interior for your American or Canadian Volkswagen Combi, then the unit listed here is highly recommended.
