From chassis number 149 431 008 onwards, the Karmann Ghia was equipped with a glass rear window, which greatly improved the visibility to the rear. It was also possible to choose the heating of the rear window as an option.
The rear window had to be able to hinge in order to open the soft top, so the rear window had to be detached at the top by a locking device, after which it could be lowered.
The hinges and the locking hook are mounted through the glass. For a somewhat flexible mounting, to prevent moisture from penetrating and to avoid damage to the glass, the assembly is mounted with rubber parts.
This kit includes all rubber parts for mounting the hinges and the locking hook on the glass.
