Product description
If the clutch operating shaft, it often causes severe damage to the clutch housing. You will need to renew everything, including the clutch release bearing sleeve.
Since this sleeve is not subject to wear, damage caused by problems with the clutch operating shaft is the number one cause for replacement. But it is usually purchased if you are going to move from a so-called floating bearing to a fixed bearing.
In older Volkswagens, the release bearing is not guided but floating, which can lead to problems more quickly, especially when the clutch is subjected to a lot of stress, such as in off-road use or other forms of motorsport.
If your gearbox has mounting locations for the guide sleeve, you can convert it. If nothing is present, you will have to look for another gearbox that is prepared for it.
